Government of India has issued notification for establishment of District Mineral Foundations Trust (DMF) vide section 9B of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015 in each Districts of all over the States of India which came into force from 12th January, 2015.

District Collector’s Message on the District Mineral Foundation Trust
The District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Trust has been established as per the Tamil Nadu District Mineral Foundation Rules, 2017, under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957. The primary objective of the trust is to work for the welfare of people and areas affected by mining-related activities.
The DMF Trust operates under the chairmanship of the District Collector and is governed by a Governing Council and a Managing Committee, comprising key officials from various government departments. The trust receives funding through contributions from mining leaseholders, and these funds are utilized for development activities in mining-affected regions.
