Establishment of DMFs in the district, date of registration of the Trust, details of members etc

The District Collector, Kancheepuram vide Proceedings Rc.No.615/Q1/2017, dated.20.10.2017 has constituted Kancheepuram District Mineral Foundation Trust.

 

The object of the District Mineral Foundation Trust
  1. Collect fund from the holders of mining leases or prospecting cum Mining leases or quarry leases at the rate of 30% of royalty or Seigniorage fee to be paid under Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concession Rules 1959 in respect of mining leases or quarry leases or quarry leases granted before 12th January 2015 and 10% in respect of mining leases or quarry leases granted on or after 12th January 2015
  2. Utilize the funds for the interest and the benefits of the persons and the areas affected by mining operations.  

 

Fund Utilization (As per revised guidelines January 2024):
High Priority - 70%Other Priority - 30%Administrative - 6%
  • Drinking water supply
  • Environment preservation and pollution control measures
  • Health care
  • Education
  • Welfare of Women and Children
  • Welfare of aged and differently abled
  • Skill Development and Livelihood generation.
  • Sanitation
  • Housing
  • Physical infrastructure
  • Irrigation
  • Energy and Watershed Development
  • Any other measures for enhancing environmental quality.
